TURis PLASMA VAPORISATION

How TURis Works

TURis stands for "Transurethral Resection in saline" and utilises the latest plasma technology, a high energy plasma field is created that coats the half-spherical electrode ("plasma button") allowing concentrated energy to be released onto the prostate tissue, thus vaporizing it. The surgeon can remove the cells safely and gently by gliding the electrode over the prostate surface. There is no direct contact needed between electrode and prostate. In contrast to other surgical treatments that operate with energy, no healthy tissue is injured or irritated in plasma vaporisation, thus avoiding complications following surgery. This modern plasma vaporisation does not only vaporise the tissue, it also coagulates (heat seals) its surface and leaves behind a smooth tissue surface. Bleeding during and after surgery can be avoided from the start, and a quick healthy healing of the wound is stimulated.
